kronehit relies on PressFile for personalized, targeted, and efficient media relations
As Austria’s most popular private radio station, kronehit reaches over one million listeners on weekdays. The media company not only receives numerous press releases, but also sends them out itself. Interviews, program promotions, contests, and regional events are strategically communicated to editorial teams.
“Especially with larger distributions, things quickly became confusing in the past,” reports Lisa Marie Dania, who manages press relations at kronehit. Manual processes shaped her daily work. Announcements were sent via BCC emails in Outlook, contact lists were maintained manually. The result: high time expenditure, difficult-to-track distribution histories, and limited planning capabilities.
For a radio station like kronehit, such an approach presents a particular challenge: local campaigns affect individual areas, while specialist and entertainment content require different journalistic perspectives. “We don’t have a physical product that is automatically featured in the media. Often, active follow-up is required to ensure the message reaches the right editorial teams,” explains Dania.
Targeted distributions instead of distribution chaos
Since the introduction of PressFile in late summer 2023, the entire workflow has become noticeably simplified. Contacts can be filtered in a structured manner by region, topic, or media type, distribution lists can be created in advance, and mailings can be flexibly scheduled or reused. “Now I select the contacts, create the distribution list, and send the message—all in just a few clicks. The approach remains personal, even with larger mailings,” describes Dania. For example, when someone from Lower Austria wins the “10,000 Euro Call” program campaign, the corresponding regional media can be specifically informed.
Media relations in one hand
At kronehit, Lisa Marie Dania is fully responsible for operational press relations. She independently coordinates contacts, distribution lists, and mailings—from planning to dispatch. Accordingly, clear structures and a system that provides transparency at all times are essential.
PressFile addresses this by documenting all contacts, distribution lists, and mailing histories centrally and transparently. This ensures continuity during absences: vacation periods or short-term absences can be easily bridged, as all information is available at all times. As a cloud solution, PressFile also enables access from anywhere—whether in the office, working from home, or on the go. Particularly in a dynamic radio environment that requires fast response times, this flexibility is a significant advantage.
The intuitive operation of the software also enabled quick onboarding: “The implementation was fast, intuitive, and involved a lot of learning by doing,” reports Dania. After just a few days, she was confident using the software.
Personal Support as a Success Factor
Another key factor for successful implementation at kronehit was the personal support: “I was in contact with Florian Fischer from the start. He explained everything to me, conducted two onboarding calls, and was always available.” Particularly in a structure with centralized media relations, this direct exchange provides additional security and significantly shortens the time to productive use.
From Tool to Strategic Component
Today, kronehit benefits from clearly structured contacts, plannable mailings, and transparent documentation. PressFile is therefore far more than an efficiency tool: the software supports strategically managed, transparent media relations—and strengthens the station’s role as an active communications player with regional and national media.
“PressFile enables us to maintain a personal approach despite the large number of announcements and to work in a structured manner—that’s worth its weight in gold in daily operations,” summarizes Dania.
